Weight:  100 G
Synonymous with good health, Green tea has been popular all over the world for centuries. Green tea is processed to minimize oxidation, and has been reported to bear wide-ranging health benefits, including some studies showing that green tea consumption may lower risks for certain types of cancer and heart disease.

Green tea is believed to aid in detoxifying the body, regulate blood sugar, and promote healthy teeth, skin, and bones.

Green tea is divided into six grades: Superior and then 1 down to 5. Infused leaves are a good indicator of quality, which is characterized by maturity and uniformity of the shoots harvested for processing. High quality green teas produce tender, whole leaves that are uniform in appearance. Lower quality varieties may vary in color from bluish to deep green after steeping. Before infusion, higher quality green teas have a very tight, bright and light green color.

A study by Wang and Ruan (2009) found that one aspect of the perceived low quality of green teas was a higher concentration of chlorophyll, producing a darker green color. The study revealed that free amino acids and theanine concentrations contribute positively to what is perceived as a good taste.

Our green tea is a fantastic source of antioxident’s which have been shown to protect the body against free radicals that cause cancer. Green tea is already a better source than other much touted antioxident foods such as blue berries and chocolate. However, a serving of superior green tea has been shown to have up to 7 times the amount of antioxidents as regular green tea.
